Yesterday was Derek's 28th birthday, and I think he had a great day!The combination of it being his last work day for the week, all the 265ish happy birthday wishes on Facebook, the cards in the mail and phone calls from family, the fabulous gifts he received from his beautiful wife, and the deliciously fun dinner with friends last night just made for an all-around good day.
We went to dinner at our favorite little Italian restaurant, Fratesi's, with 14 friends last night. Dinner was soooo good, as always, and the company was even better!
No birthday dinner would be complete without the birthday cake, and on this 100-degree August night we cooled off with an ice cream cake with Derek's picture on it. It turned out great! Of course, it wasn't entirely thawed out, so we ended up eating ice cream cake popsicles, but it was still tasty. :)
