And just think of all the blogging material I'll have to share when I return! This is me MAJORLY stepping out of my comfort zone of planning out every detail of my life. This spontaneity will be good for me. Sometimes last minute plans are the best ones. :)

After the banquet (during which, might I add, many tears were shed - both from laughing at old stories to crying when the pref singers sang) we headed to Mahogany like old times to catch up with everyone we didn't get a chance to talk with before. The manager pulled enough tables together to sit all 20ish of us, and we just had a few drinks and caught up. It was perfect!
After we got nice and sun-burned, we headed back to the Bulldog for an Abita Strawberry and some good food, then back to our deck for some quality deck-sitting time. Dave even brought out the guitar for another Dave Unplugged session.
Our almost-little-leprechaun baby Finn Sullivan Storr was born at 1:46 p.m. this afternoon and weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces. Mom, Dad and Baby are all doing great.
Derek and I had an absolutely fantastic anniversary celebration on Friday. He had been in Chicago all last week for work and just returned home on Thursday night, so it was great to spend some time together.
This was the very first swap when we were freshmen. It was also the night before our first date party. The theme was Britney Spears-inspired Catholic School girl-ish. That's a sign of the times right then. Back in the old days (specifically just my freshman year), the fraternities would actually come pick the sororities up for swaps.
They would caravan in trucks, do their little cheer, then all the girls would come down and ride over to the fraternity house where the swap would be. We would literally ride down Hardy Street yelling and cheering in the back of pick-up trucks on our way to Frat Row. CLEARLY this was before there were liability laws that had to be strictly followed.
Chapter Two: King Neptune 2000
King Neptune was the Monday event leading up to DG Anchor Splash, our big philanthropy fundraiser. It was a dance competition between all the fraternities, and one designated guy was selected to "reign" over Anchor Splash as King Neptune. His job was to he sat in the lifeguard chair during all the swim competitions).
Allison and I were coaches for Phi Kappa Tau, and they choreographed the most amazing Michael Jackson medley ever. I mean, it should have been on YouTube (I don't even think that was around back then, but still). It was so impressive! Needless to say, they won King Neptune and set the bar pretty high for the next few years. Until then it was a joke, but everything changed after King Neptune 2000 and it became a serious dance competition. Or at least a little more serious. :)
Chapter Three: Timmy Gets Anchor Man
Speaking of Anchor Splash, this was also the night that we "picked up" our DG Anchor Men. They were essentially like "big brothers" to the sorority, and they helped us set up our tailgating tents and other fun things like that. We voted on them, and usually the ones who we picked were either boyfriends or the best guy friends everyone knew and who came to all our parties.
My senior year, we picked up my friend Timmy, who had been one of my best friends throughout college. It was more of a "thank you" then since we were seniors, but he loved it and still has his Anchor Man t-shirt. He even posted a pic of it on FB yesterday. Aw...
Chapter Four: Mardi Gras with Bobby 2001
Oh, what a trip... My sophomore year a BIG group of traveled down to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. We stayed with my friend Bobby (who Derek and I STILL go to Mardi Gras with now) and Bobby drove us around in a minivan all weekend to make sure we had fun and stayed safe. Bless his heart.
This picture is one of my favorites. It cracks me up every time I look at it. And this was actually taken the first night we were there at the family-friendly Mandeville parade. Yikes. We were excited to be at Mardi Gras, what can I say?

My parents came for a visit on Saturday. It's been since Christmas that we last saw them, and since my birthday that they've been to Jackson. We had a great time! It was an ugly, rainy day, but we spent a little time at the Bulldog sipping on a few Abita Strawberrys and then had dinner at Babalu. It was great!
After church we went across the street for lunch at Tina and Ben's. We were just an extension of the family. :)
